Holiday Season 2020

Chicago elders will know the warmth of friendship this December!

This year has been unlike any other. But with the help of our community, we’ve stayed focused on surrounding Chicago seniors aging alone with friendship and support. And though we can’t gather together this holiday season, elders across Chicago are safely celebrating with a homemade meal and powerful reminders they’re loved and cared for – thanks to our volunteers! With the help of our caring community, all volunteer opportunities for the holiday season have been filled!

Christmas Day meal delivery

  • Nearly 600 elders will receive a homemade holiday meal, made with love by our wonderful community partners Fight2Feed.
  • Meal pick up, as well as meal drop off, will be contactless events. The video below shows our drive-through meal pick up and knock-drop-and-wave delivery method in action.

Holiday gift delivery

  • Each year, we give every elder in our program a gift during the holiday season — a powerful reminder to our elders that they are not alone. This year, we will deliver nearly 1,000 gifts with the help of our volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who is sharing their friendship and time to brighten this holiday season for a Chicago elder.

Little Brothers Puts Health, Well-being First

We've put a proactive plan in place to help protect the health of our elders, volunteers and staff. Beginning Friday, March 13th, parties, social clubs and in-home visits are suspended.

Instead, volunteers and staff will be reaching out to our elder friends with handwritten cards and phone calls to check in and share conversation. Please join us to remind our elders they are not alone.
