Support

Every gift has a meaningful impact.

Your generosity makes a difference in the life of a lonely elder! With your gift, you provide meaningful friendship, as well as vital programs and services  always offered at no-cost to our members.

LBFE relieves isolation and loneliness among Chicago’s elders day after day, month after month — for life.

No one should grow older alone. And thanks to generous donors, our elders know the joys of friendship and connection. With our donors’ support, elders, volunteers and staff forge lifelong connections. These relationships change our elders’ lives, surrounding them with friendship and family.

Bring a warm Thanksgiving to Chicago's elders

Whether at a small holiday party for other fully vaccinated elders or receiving a friendly delivery of a homemade turkey dinner, our elders will know they’re loved thanks to the support of generous donors like you!

Give elders a special holiday gift!

LBFE’s Holiday Gift Program reminds 1,000 elders aging alone they are loved and not forgotten. Your support will bring joy and a thoughtfully chosen gift, as well as other engaging, useful presents, to elders who may expect no other gift this holiday season.

Keep elders connected to essential resources

LBFE provides nearly 150 elders with a week’s worth of fresh groceries and pantry staples each month. Your gift of any amount ensures elders are cared for in spirit and body.

Your generosity makes our work possible

Thanks to the support of a caring community, Chicago elders aging alone are able to rely on Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly year after year — no matter what.

Who are our elders?

We welcome women and men 70 and older, from every walk of life, who are aging without the support of family and friends. The average age of our elders is 82. Thirty-eight percent rely on a walker or wheelchair to get around. And just over half could not count on having more than two social interactions lasting longer than 30 minutes in a month without Little Brothers.

How we serve

All of our programs and services, always provided at no cost, are designed to remind Chicago’s elders that they are not forgotten and not alone. Through our programs, elders are able to make lasting, meaningful friendships with each other, volunteers and staff. And through our social work services, elders are supported and empowered in making important life decisions.

Make friendship possible!

Your gift of any amount provides friendship, laughter and happy memories. For Chicago elders living without friends and family, Little Brothers is a reliable, constant source for connection and socialization that leads to lasting, meaningful friendships.
