We're excited to show you our new logo!

We’re the same LBFE you’ve always known, but we look a little more modern! We remember and honor our history always, and our mission to relieve isolation and loneliness for elders aging without support from friends or family remains unchanged.

A Slice of Summer for Chicago's elders

Slice of Summer brings friendship, celebration and some of the best parts of summer safely to our elders, as we continue to plan a return to small-group events and outings. If you’d like to bring a summer celebration experience to an elder, sign up for a virtual volunteer orientation below!

Support elders aging alone

Your gift of any amount supports essential programs and services for elders, like our Food Bag Program, which provides a week’s worth of fresh groceries and pantry staples to elders most in need.

Friends together again!

Fully vaccinated volunteers and staff members are visiting with fully vaccinated elders! These joyful reunions are taking place across the city. You can be matched with an elder to share friendship during phone or in-person visits, too!

By sharing their friendship and time, our volunteers truly change the lives of our elders.

From a special in-home visit to a delivery of groceries at the end of the month, our programs are designed to bring friendship and sustaining services to elders aging alone.

We’re grateful to all those who support our work and mission. Because of your dedication and generosity, 1,200 elders can count on Little Brothers.

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly has been dedicated to relieving isolation and loneliness among Chicago’s elders since 1959.

Women and men 70 and older who are aging alone have a family in Little Brothers. For over 60 years, we’ve been providing steadfast friendship to thousands of elders who no longer have friends and family to rely on.  All of our programs and services are always offered at no cost, and our organization receives no government assistance. We depend on the generosity of donors to bring conversation, companionship, celebration and connection to the elders we serve.

Your gift of any amount has a powerful, direct impact on the life of a lonely Chicago elder. Your generous support connects our elders with meaningful friendship, engaging programs and vital services.
